Dear Sisters,

What a joy it has been to see the photos and videos pouring in from around the world following the March 6, 2026, celebration of World Day of Prayer! Seeing so many of you gathered in prayer across languages, nations, contexts and cultures is a powerful reminder of why our movement matters. A very special word of gratitude goes to our sisters from WDP Nigeria, whose dedication and hard work in preparing this year's program was truly extraordinary. We are deeply grateful.

I also have some exciting news to share about the WDPIC office, and I hope it will bring you the same joy it brings me.

Many of you may already know that Samantha Figueroa requested a shift to a part-time role in 2024. Since that time, we have been working with several consultants to support the varied needs of the office. I am pleased to share that Samantha will be continuing as part-time staff in a newly defined role — Administration & Finance Associate — which now formally reflects the scope and focus of her part-time work. We are so grateful for Samantha's continued commitment to WDPIC.

I am also thrilled to announce that, as of this week, we have a new full-time staff member: Monica Quintero, who joins us as Global Relationships & Operations Strategist. Monica brings over 15 years of relationship management experience across both nonprofit and corporate environments, as well as English and Spanish bilingual fluency — gifts that will serve our global community well. Her career has been defined by building trust with diverse partners, listening carefully to their needs, and finding ways to support their long-term success — exactly the spirit we hope to bring to our movement as well.

Monica is not a stranger to our work. She was one of the consultants who supported the WDPIC office in 2025 contributing in several key areas: Event Planning for the 2027 International Meeting in Ghana, Strengthening National Committees, and Communications.

In January 2026, Monica also joined me in traveling to Accra, Ghana as part of the planning process for the 2027 International Meeting — a trip that deepened our relationships with WDP Ghana and moved that important work forward in meaningful ways.

In this new role, Monica will focus on building and deepening relationships with all 135 WDPIC National Committees — reaching out to listen, learn, and identify ways we can better support each committee in their ministry. She will also take the lead on WDPIC's communications and social media presence, support planning for the 2027 International Meeting in Ghana, and contribute to the broader operational needs of the office.

We are deeply grateful for the skills, gifts, and passions that Monica brings to this work, and we look forward to introducing her more fully to National Committees in the days ahead.

As part of this transition, here are our new email addresses. Please note that you can still write to us at our previous email addresses, which will now be forwarded here:

Please join me in welcoming Monica to the WDPIC staff family!

With gratitude and joy,

Katie Reimer

Executive Director

World Day of Prayer International Committee
